LOTTO CHALLENGER v3.7 is a fully functional Shareware lotto
analysis program. A Quick Picks option automatically picks the
best numbers to play based on a statistical analysis of
previously drawn numbers. Twenty wheeling systems are included
that generate bet tickets from the numbers played. A Winner's
Circle option determines which tickets have winning matches. A
History option allows you to test different playing strategies
on previous drawings.
Version 3.7 is compatible with all lotteries that pick 5 or 6
numbers, including the new multi-state Powerball game. A data
file for the Florida lottery is included so that you can easily
evaluate the program. When you register for LOTTO CHALLENGER,
you will receive an up-to-date data file for whatever lottery
you play, at no extra charge.
How to Get Started Quickly:
___________________________
All of the files in this release are uncompressed. The files
will easily fit on one 360K 5 1/4" diskette. If you play
several lotteries, or have a large data file, you may want to
copy all the files to a high density diskette or a subdirectory
on your hard drive.
To start LOTTO CHALLENGER from diskette, insert the diskette in
your drive and type A: or B: and press ENTER. Type LC and press
ENTER.
To start LOTTO CHALLENGER from your hard drive, you must first
change into the directory. Assuming the program files are in a
subdirectory called LOTTO, you would type CD \LOTTO and press
ENTER. Type LC and press ENTER.
NOTE: It is very important that you have the command FILES=20
(20 or greater) in the CONFIG.SYS file in your root directory.
The Number Systems options in LOTTO CHALLENGER will not work
correctly without this command. If the command is not in the
file, you can use any ascii text editor to insert the command.
You will need to reboot your computer after inserting it.
Consult your DOS manual for more information.
If you are upgrading from a previous version of LOTTO
CHALLENGER, or just want to see what changes have been recently
made, be sure to read the file HISTORY.DOC for a complete list
of recent enhancements.
The file PRODUCTS.DOC contains detailed information on other
lotto products that we sell. Registered users get a discount on
all these products. An order form is included in the file.
How to Print the User's Manual:
______________________________
To print the User's manual, change to LOTTO CHALLENGER's home
directory and type COPY LC.DOC PRN.
How to Obtain Technical Support:
________________________________
All users can obtain Technical Support either by U.S. mail or
CompuServe Email (72356,354). We will try our best to fully
support unregistered users during their evaluation period, but
we will give priority to registered users, if necessary.
Registered users become eligible to receive free, unlimited
Technical Support by telephone.
What SHAREWARE is:
__________________
Shareware describes a method of distributing copyrighted
software in which a user is allowed to fully evaluate the
software before purchasing it. After an evaluation period, the
user is required to register the product if s/he decides to keep
using it.
Shareware distribution addresses all of the legitimate
complaints that users have with commercial software
distribution.
o Shareware allows a user to fully evaluate a product, free of
charge, in his or her home, *before* deciding to buy it.
o Shareware programs can circulate freely on Bulletin Boards,
through Shareware disk distributors, or through user groups.
o Because Shareware distribution reduces the need to
advertise, Shareware is less expensive than commercial
software.
o Shareware authors can often be more responsive to users'
requests for help or bug fixes than large software
companies.
o Shareware software, needless to say, is never copy-protected.
In short, Shareware is a user's dream come true. Users show
their appreciation to developers for this extremely flexible
distribution scheme by registering their software. Without user
registrations Shareware software would gradually disappear. It
is not sufficient to simply let the "other guy" pay the
registration. You are the other guy's "other guy".
What SHAREWARE is not:
______________________
Shareware is not "free" software. Shareware is not Public
Domain software. The fee that you may have paid to receive a
Shareware program does not mean that the software has been paid
for. This money was paid to a Shareware disk vendor, User
Group, Bulletin Board Service or retailer to cover their cost of
getting the program to you. Shareware software is paid for by
registering your copy with the author.
The Future of LOTTO CHALLENGER:
______________________________
LOTTO CHALLENGER is a dynamic program. It has changed
considerably since its conception. I have called myself a
perfectionist, and so long as LOTTO CHALLENGER is imperfect, I
will persevere. I have already spent thousands of hours
developing this program. The development of LOTTO CHALLENGER
has been an extremely rewarding project; LOTTO CHALLENGER has
grown with me as my own programming skills have grown.
By distributing LOTTO CHALLENGER as Shareware I am expressing my
confidence in the public to "Do the Right Thing". I would like
you to evaluate LOTTO CHALLENGER for as long as 30 days before
deciding whether you want to keep it. If you do decide to keep
it, you must register your copy. Full details on registration
can be found in the REGISTER.DOC file. I would be anxious to
hear your comments about LOTTO CHALLENGER. Please feel free to
contact me with your suggestions for new features, etc.
